Nursery contributed plant descriptions

"Cider Gum" is one of the best known species of hardy eucalyptus, having round, stem-clasping juvenile leaves which later change over to the pendulous adult leaf form.  Another fun reason to grow this tree is for the cider that can be tapped from the trunk…mmmm! This collection comes from a beautiful tree in Seattle with smaller leaves and a more spreading growth habit than usual. It is also quite large and has stood up to some very cold winters—it should be hardy to about 5 °F.
