Nursery contributed plant descriptions

Yet another one of so many fabulous Podocarpus species! This one from Bolivia and Argentina is closely related to P. salignus, forming a somewhat open conical tree. The soft leaves aren't as weepy as those of P. salignus. I expect it to remain rather small and well-behaved in gardens, where it will thrive in sun or part shade, probably appreciating some summer water. We're not sure how hardy this is yet: 15 °F shouldn't be a problem; below that, who knows? Try one and let us know.
