This “Goldenball Tree” from parts of northern Mexico, Texas and New Mexico has rather coarse-textured (but soft) very bright green leaves, topped with showy yellow puffballs that are larger than those of many legumes. It is one of the hardiest members of the genus, tolerating 5 °F in dry climates. HW.
