Nursery contributed plant descriptions

Where Viking Way meets Finn Hill Road, as one enters Poulsbo, is a sign reading 'Wilkommen til Poulsbo.' And growing around the sign are several plants of Kinnikkinnik, and an upright, rounded shrub that caught my attention when it bloomed with loads of little white bells. It turns out to be Arctostaphylos x media, although one that seems to be quite similar to A. uva-ursi overall, save for the upright habit. Despite the parent plant being upright, plants from my cuttings have so far been inclined to sprawl. Admittedly, as this was in a city planting, I can't be sure this isn't the same as another cultivar already in cultivation - but it may be something that was growing natively and simply incorporated into the display. In any case, I will say (so far) this shows the best disease and leaf spot resistance of any of our native Arctostaphylos. -10 to -20 °F.
