OK, so that might be sort of a stupid name, but the first thing I thought when I saw it is that it reminds me of Arctostaphylos confertiflora, a species from the Channel Islands. I would say the rounder leaves, spreading habit and sort of 'heavier' branches led me to this idea. I'm excited to see how it does in a garden setting.
