Nursery contributed plant descriptions

Evergreen shrub to 10', glossy leaves, masses of white summer flowers, very rare! Tasmania. This excellent hybrid of Eucryphia lucida x E. milliganii one of the rarer garden hybrids known. The E. milliganii parentage imparts much smaller and more delicate foliage than E. lucida, as well as vastly superior frost hardiness. It is slower growing, and more shrubby and compact, than most other Eucryphias; perhaps amounting to 8 – 12' over time but easily kept smaller if desired. Masses of showy white anemone-like flowers are produced in the fall. We expect it to handle about 5 – 10 °F.
