Callistemon sp. 'Soft White' is a broadleaf evergreen shrub with green foliage. In spring and summer white flowers emerge followed by brown fruit. Unknown species. Formerly 'Soft White', upright with beautiful soft leaves, weeping branches, pure white flowers late spring. Yet another different looking bottlebrush that I grew from a mixed seed packet; this one has an initially upright habit, with weeping growth tips, and an overall very soft texture with delicate leaves that are held closely to the stems. The profuse flowers are a true white, not the usual cream color of so many Callistemons. One well-known nursery has threatened to name this plant after me; then what will I call it? It is cold-hardy to at least 10 °F.
