    Callistemon sp. aff. sieberi [small hairy-form] is a broadleaf evergreen shrub with green foliage. In spring and summer cream and yellow flowers emerge followed by brown fruit. Attracts bees making it an excellent addition to pollinator gardens. Grows well with sun and regular - low water. Drought tolerant once established. Prefers to be dry in summer. Adapts to various soil conditions. Does well in clay and well-drained soil.

    Callistemon sieberi is one of the hardiest bottlebrushes, if not THE hardiest. It comes in many forms, but is always a small shrub with showy cream colored flowers and narrow leaves. This plant is probably a form of C. sieberi but I can't be absolutely certain. It is perhaps the most compact and dense growing of any Callistemon – remaining under 3' tall and wide with tiny leaves and beautiful silky new growth. Yellow flowers are produced on mature plants. If you are one of those people with high standards for cuteness, this is the Callistemon for you. Hardy to at least 0 – 5 °F.
