Nursery contributed plant descriptions

The Subalpine Silver Wattle from high elevations of Australia was introduced by a nursery in Wales pursuing extra cold-hardy provenances of Australian trees. It has remained extremely rare and much sought after in the United States, and understandably so: larger and much more vigorous than usual A. dealbata, and with unbelievably fine, truly silver-colored bipinnate leaves, and an explosion of bright yellow flowers in late winter that perfume the air when little else in blooming. It's a large tree (to 60'+) and seems to be hardy to around 15 °F.
