Nursery contributed plant descriptions

Ratibida columnifera 'Yellow' is a dwarf variety of this drought-tolerant prairie wildflower known as Mexican hat plant. The reflexed petals are pure yellow around long, prominent dark brown cones on sturdy stems atop feathery foliage up to 24 inches tall
?A splendid yellow conifer which deserves to be much more frequently planted? (Hilliers), the ferny leaves of this slow-growing, horizontally- branched, handsomely-barked tree are suffused with golden-yellow in summer. S-PSh/M
The chunky texture of this unique species is accentuated by the golden-yellow frosting on the foliage. A unique variety that is uncommonly seen in cultivation.
Elk Horn Cedar or Hiba Arborvitae. Limited supply. This beautiful conifer should be in more gardens. Reportedly it prefers a moist rich soil and does well in areas with high annual rainfall, yet we've grown it for a couple of years in southeastern MA, and it hasn't been upset with our variable weather conditions. Lacy flat fronds of yellow green foliage with needles arranged in a pattern that almost looks braided. It is slow growing but can become a large specimen with age, up to 20' tall in our climate, but possibly to 30'' in warmer zones. Spring shipping size 12-15" plants.
We've all appreciated 'variegata' for the striking brush marks on the foliage. Well here you go a golden thujopsis!

This plant is never quite as yellow here as it is on the west coast. Still....it can be very nice, lined with a gold edge and still very handsome in the part shade.
