Nursery contributed plant descriptions

This vulgaris hybrid has large white flowers with a hint of lavender and yellow centres. The flowers are held above a rosette of very dark, bronzy purple leaves. A fabulous new addition to the world of primroses.
All the way from Ireland & 35 years in the making, these dusky-leaved Primulas are a sophisticated new bent on an old & well-loved plant. Bred from old Irish stock by Primula enthusiast Joe Kennedy & introduced by Fitzgerald Nurseries, this collection is more vigorous than the bedding Primulas of similar ilk & with darkest foliage that’s appealing all on its own. We’re delighted to bring them to our corner of the states & excited to see how they’ll perform in our shady gardens! Creamy white to lavender blooms with yellow eyes are produced in Spring above darkly bronzed foliage. Like many primroses, ‘Drumcliffe’ shuns heat & dryness, so stick to shady settings, or grow it as a seasonal annual. Grows 5” by 5”.
