Nursery contributed plant descriptions

Here’s a very rare & unusual color for Viola odorata – soft yellow with a hint of apricot! Oooooh. Though the species has a well-earned reputation for being a thug in the garden, there are instances where said thuggery is totally useful & appropriate (DRY SHADE!) & the plant has the undeniable appeal of those that have been passed down through generations of gardeners... even if said passing down was in some cases involuntary. Sadly, there’s some conflicting information on the internets about whether or not the unique flowers of this strain bear fragrance & not a nose among us remembers if the pretty flowers were perfumed or not! Oh dear. We’ll pay attention to more than just the eye candy this year. Grows up to 6” high, spreading wider with time. Tolerant of many soil types, dry shade & damp spot.
