From a neat clump of flat basal leaves springs 2-3’ upright stems covered with rose pink flowers; if cut back after bloom, it blooms all summer! Sun to part shade, most soils, water when dry; drought tolerant, deer resistant, slugs don’t like it and easy.
Rosetta' puts on a colorful flower display, bejeweled in pretty carmine-pink hues. Anchored by comely, crimpled dark green leaves, the tall spires host sumptuously hued, gold-centered, saucer-shaped flowers that celebrate the vivid hues of Phygelius 'New Sensation' and Liatris 'Floristan Violett'.
Flat rosettes of green leaves, and showy spikes of flowers, this is one of the most ornamental verbascums with flowers as good as wiedemannianum but much easier.
Verbascum ‘Violetta’s pretty pink cousin. Let us sing a chorus from the Verbascum anthem: EASY, DROUGHT TOLERANT, DEER PROOF, SNAIL PROOF, GOOF PROOF! Completely carefree, super-simple & so elegant. Verbascum phoeniceum is PERENNIAL, & flowers from the low-to-the-ground basal leaves to a height of 2-3.’ Cut back after bloom for an encore! Not fussy about soil. Tolerates shade better than many Verbascums, too!
