Zn 6. Bright yellow thread-like foliage.
Bright lemon-lime colored textural foliage distinguishes this form of Cotton Lavender. It requires a very well drained soil to winter over in zone 6, and should not be cut back in the fall. 18"
Charming lemon-gold form of an old favorite, Mediterranean perennial, forming a bun-shaped mass of narrow stems and tiny leaves to about 18" tall. A terrific accent in the dry garden with the same yellow flowers as the species. Full sun for best yellow color or part shade where plants become greener. Lean soils and little summer water once established. Enjoy. Frost hardy in USDA zone 7.
I’m a huge fan of golden foliage – it cheers up the garden so. And I have just the spot for this little cutie! Growing to 18” tall & 2’ wide, the foliage is bright yellow in sun & more chartreuse with some shade. It needs good drainage & would be great in a container. Can’t wait to try all sorts of color combinations with this guy – purple-leaved Ageratum corymbosum, carmel-colored Heuchera ‘Marmalade’ & silver-leaved Orostachys iwarenge all come to mind. Not to mention, anything with blue flowers would be great too! Love the fragrant foliage!
