Salvia barrelieri is a broadleaf deciduous perennial with green foliage. In fall, spring, summer and winter blue and lavender flowers emerge. Attracts bees, beneficial insects, birds and hummingbirds making it an excellent addition to pollinator gardens. Grows well with sun - mostly shade and regular water. Does well in acidic, alkaline, rich and well-drained soil.

This perennial Salvia is quite cold hardy and comes from SW Spain. Loves the full sun and a well-drained fertile soil with the odd deep watering. Nice rosettes of big leaves are the launching pad for the 5' spike of blue flowers which sport a lower white lip.
From Spain & North Africa comes this little known, striking Salvia. Forming basal rosettes of bluish-green foliage, it then sends up stalks 3’ to 5’ tall & wide bearing large & showy, lavender-blue flowers, Summer thru Fall. Long blooming & long lived, it tolerates part shade & is hardy to 10 degrees. Attracts hummingbirds.
