Nursery contributed plant descriptions

A native gem, found originally in eastern and midwestern areas, extending south to Oklahoma. Hundreds of charming warm yellow daisy flowers with brown button centers bloom nonstop summer through fall, adding sparkle to your garden beds."
Brown Eyed Susan (Rudbeckia triloba) creates major excitement in your landscape, it's brilliant yellow flowers with jet-black centers bloom from late summer all the way up to the first hard frost. Grows in almost any soil, in full sun or light shade. Although short-lived, it self-sows readily on open soil. Other common names include Branched Coneflower, Thin-Leaved Coneflower and Three-Lobed Coneflower. Hardy to Zones 4 - 9.
This is one of my favorite rudbeckias. Similar overall to R. hirta, but individual flowers are smaller and produced in much larger numbers, and it is much more perennial. Three feet tall at least, and covered with bloom for the second half of the summer. Vigorous, easy, and well worth growing. Zone 4
Lauren Springer, author of the “Undaunted Garden,” raves about this almost unknown heirloom Black-Eyed Susan. Growing 4’ x 4’, it bursts into great masses of small golden daisies with chocolate eyes, Summer thru early Winter. Makes an excellent cut flower, as well as a fun & easy Summer focal point.
