Nursery contributed plant descriptions

For hundreds of years gardeners have been growing Auriculas, & they are some of our favorite plants here at Annie’s. We don’t think that there are enough of them available to the general public, either, so we’ve been propagating some of our own selected seedlings to share! They are limited in quantity, & so will only be available to our mail-order customers. ‘Calypso’ is a gold centered Alpine auricula, with deep pink coloring towards the center of the petals that fades to a light pink towards the outer edge. It’s a vigorous grower, happy in pots, & here in the bay area it blooms on & off all year, though it’s showiest season is Spring. Rich soil is best – keep out of hot, direct sun!
