Patty Espinoza, our retail gal of renown, named this sweet old-fashioned looking double because she said that it reminded her of her grandmother. Its flowers are shades of russet & peach, mingled together, on foot-tall stems, & show themselves much of the year here by the bay – though elsewhere this cutie may only bloom in spring. Like all auriculas, it likes good drainage, rich soil, average water, & a cool shady place. Well suited to pots & rockeries, where its handsome leaves will amass a foliage clump 6-8” high, & slightly wider in time. Honey-scented flowers perfume the air on warm days, & are very cute as cut flowers for petite flower arrangements.
