Nursery contributed plant descriptions

Large lavender flowers are produced almost continuously on this Canary Island endemic that thrives in dry shade. Did you catch that? Here – let me repeat myself: this everblooming, showy plant actually wants to be grown in dry shade. I mean, wow. How many plants fall into that category?? Growing to 40” high & wide, the plant will eventually form a woody base & become almost shrubby. The toothed leaves are silver with downy hairs, evergreen & make a pleasing backdrop for the single, fragrant, 1” purple flowers. Ooooh! Too much Winter wet can be a problem, so try to plant it in well-draining soil, or in a site that has some Winter sun, like under a deciduous tree! Great in pots.
