Nursery contributed plant descriptions

Lightly scented trumpets of mauve to deep chocolate brown adorn this beauty. Long tubular flowers end in a shower of smokey red and maroon stars, the flowers blooming in abundant clusters all summer to frost. A lovely companion to 'Lime Green' tobacco and 'Redhead' coleus. Self sows.
A pretty and floriferous tobacco relative, this is tender but reseeds. Plants are upright with large leaves at the base with branching stems 3-4’ tall bearing lots of ruby red chocolate flowers...they remind me of red velvet cake! Morning sun is best, enjoys rich well drained soil but takes less. Deer resistant, bug resistant and snail/slug resistant. Easy and perfectly at home in the cottage garden! Annual all zones.
A garden hybrid of N. langsdorfii and N. alata, with flowers colored anywhere between lime green to chocolate purple shades. An old fashioned looking cottage garden plant.
New and exciting for 2005! This charming new strain of Nicotiana originated from Blue Meadow Farm Nursery of Massachusetts. Clearly showing a lot of Nicotiana langsdorfii, it bears an abundance of pendulous green tubes opening out to starry petals of ruby red to chocolate. 3’-4’ tall, multibranching, fast and easy to grow like all Nicotianas, give it rich soil and some shade. The colors are richest when grown in bright shade with no more than morning sun. Perennial USDA Zones 10-11, annual elsewhere, but colder climate folks need not dismay as it readily self sows! Snail resistant! Deer resistant!
