Nursery contributed plant descriptions

Slender stemmed & spare to start, this South African annual matures to develop an explosion of vibrant purple-blue flowers at the end of graceful stems. So pretty! Though it’s made its way into horticulture to some degree, this wildflower is still fairly unknown. I’m excited about the garden possibilities! It’s a cousin to Lobelia & can be used in similar situations to Lobelia erinus – trailing out of beds, in hanging baskets & as filler between perennials. In its native habitat, it is found growing in masses in moist patches of soil, to 8”-1’ high & wide & blooms over a long season in early Spring. This is a WILD strain! It may perform differently & adopt a different bloom season in the garden. We’re excited to find out!
