Could this be the girliest native “Monkeyflower” of them all? It’s certainly in the running. Soft, ballerina pink flowers bloom over a long period – late Spring through late Summer if you keep your plant deadheaded & watered. Grows to around 2’ in height, with slightly downy/sticky leaves & will spread wide with time, going deciduous in the Winter. Blooms are 1.5”. Because both the parents species are fond of water, this plant isn’t remotely a candidate for a hot dry spot, but most garden situations should still suit its proclivities. If you have a particularly damp spot, this would be an ideal choice. Very tolerant of pots, so long as it receives an appropriate amount of water.
