The seed for this extremely lovely aromatic Horehound came as M. cylleneum, but it’s certainly a much prettier version than other plants by that name. Reliably perennial & needing NO SUMMER WATER, it makes a perfect foreground plant for a dry garden & is great for dressing up the woody lower branches of many shrubs. From 4-12” tall in Part Shade & about 2’ across, its dense sage green quilted foliage draws you in with a sort of 3-D effect & the slender white edging of each leaf makes it stand out. Whorls of small lavender flowers appear in leaf axils in mid-Summer. Trouble free, it attracts lots of friendly & interesting bugs!
