Nursery contributed plant descriptions

World's Juiciest Lupine?? We are so pleased that Strybing Arboretum in San Francisco shared with us a little seed for this heartbreakingly beautiful species. An annual with large, velvet cloaked silver leaves & sumptuous royal blue flowers. The seed pods that follow are huge, & like the rest of the plant, covered in velvety down. Even the seeds are fabulous! They sparkle. Grows to about 2'x2', smaller in poorer soil. Plant in rich or poor soil, & water moderately. VERY LIMITED – we will only be able to offer a small amount of this plant every year. Found in Israel, Greece, & other surrounding Mediterranean countries. Reseeds, some.
