Nursery contributed plant descriptions

A vision in mauve pink and lavender blue, 'Erewhon' turns the sweet pea world upside down with pale upright standards over deeper hued wings. Far from being disillusioned, we are enchanted by this fragrant rarity. As always, humus rich soils, regular water, and obsessive picking to keep in bloom reward the gardener.
Enchanting & unique! Here is a sweet pea unlike any you have seen before. This reverse bicolor is borne of a cross between the yellow & orange flowered species, L. belinensis (from Turkey) & L. odoratus. The result is a flower with a soft pinkish lavender banner & sultry mid-blue wings. In addition to its unique beauty & color, it’s also rich in fragrance & a great cut flower. Best color in part shade, but that may not matter if you’re close to the coast. Bred in New Zealand by Dr. Keith Hammett. Rich soil is best! Climbs somewhere between 3-6’. Reseeds!
