Nursery contributed plant descriptions

Do I imagine it or is it a fact that lavender and mauve and purple sweet peas have the sweetest fragrance? Lady Grisel Hamilton is delightful, recounts Louise Beebe Wilder in her 1932 book, The Fragrant Garden. Seeds poisonous.
Lady in Lavender! Introduced by Henry Eckford in 1895, this subtle & lovely Sweetpea boasts the heat tolerance & heady fragrance of her other old fashioned compatriots. Blooms come three or four to each long stalk & are excellent cut flowers. The simple & unruffled blooms are the typical smallish heirloom size & a clear, soft purple in hue. Keep flowers cut, or deadheaded, to encourage a long season of bloom! Rich soil is best, please.
