Nursery contributed plant descriptions

There are two types of gardeners: those who can handle this plant & those who can’t. The volume of flower power on this drought tolerant uber-shrub? It goes to 11. We threw a little start of this guy in the far corner of the parking lot & it grew itself into a fine specimen with no supplemental water or care. Every March it puts on a lavish & almost unnatural display of purple-magenta blooms. From afar it looks as if something alien & strange (like Barney, in mesemb form) has appeared in the parking lot. For about a month there’s nary a leaf to be seen behind its cloud of flowers, but the rest of the year it keeps to itself, unassuming & evergreen. Plant with something extremely orange for just the right effect – Ursinia anthemoides should do just fine. Grows to 2’ tall by 3’ wide.
