Tender evergreen shrub with attractive medium green foliage can grow 4-8’ in frost free locations. For most of us it is a superb seasonal container specimen that drips with oodles of 4” long GLOWING red orange tubular flowers in fat clusters from late spring to first freeze. Blooms on new growth so prune away! Full sun on coast and in northern areas, part shade elsewhere. Easily overwinters in our cold greenhouse to keep it from freezing.
An erect medium evergreen shrub. Mid green, broad, lance shaped leaves, to 20cm long, clothe erect woody stems. Throughout all but the coldest months large bunches of pendant, tubular, pale red flowers are produced. Provide with a warm position. Dislikes frost.

Here’s a tropical looking evergreen shrub with pretty clusters of hanging tubular orange-red flowers. Blooms Spring through Fall & has large bright green leaves. Fast growing, it gets to be about 8’ tall and wide. Hummingbirds love the flowers. From Peru. Makes a great screening shrub & also gives a tropical air to the garden.
