The Impatiens of my dreams! It’s rare, bizarre, tough & ORANGE. Growing to 4’ in height & around as wide, the sunset hued, curious blooms are borne all along the spindly stems & show themselves off & on throughout the year. Each bloom is a little over an inch in size, with a red hood & a yellow spur. As the plants mature, they put on a showier & showier display! Said to be quite hardy, but since we haven’t tested it & the plant is so new to cultivation, we’re putting it at zone 9. We’ve seen it freeze back to its tuberous roots when hit with frost, but pop right back strong as ever come Spring! Distribution is widespread – this species can be found in the open grasslands of several countries in Middle & Eastern Africa.
