Nursery contributed plant descriptions

Silver veined leaves heavily marbled with green and pink give this 6-18" shade-loving mounder year-round interest; its nodding, mauve-green-cream flowers will light up your early spring. PSh-Sh/M
Pink Marble is a strain of the uncommon H. lividus, whose wild populations are limited to the island of Majorca in the Mediterranean. Less hardy than other species, it can be grown in a protected spot with overhead protection from buildings or larger plants. The gorgeous glossy green leaves are highlighted with creamy silver veins and held by pinkish purple leaf stalks. Long purplish green stems hold bowl-shaped creamy green flowers with a mauve-pink blush. Deer resistant.
What can match a Hellebore for its combination of winter elegance & impressive durability? This cultivar’s richly marbled leaves in tones of green, pink, & silver give year-round interest to any shady spot, & is particularly charming in Winter, when flowering canes emerge with mauvey-pink & green flowers than nod downward to protect the plant’s pollen from wind & rain. Both leaves & flowers are supported by deep pink stems. 18” in height & spread, like all others in its genus it is tolerant of neglect, poor soil, & abuse, though compost & occasional water will make it grow bigger & better faster. The only natural predators of the Hellebore are slugs & snails, & these may be easily dispatched by a serving of Sluggo.
