Nursery contributed plant descriptions

Tongue-in-cheek name coined by Pete Ray for these seedlings of Bishop of Llandaff. These vary in darkness of foliage and flower color from magenta to red to ? but generally more of a single Anemone type of flower. So far every one that has bloomed has left with someone.
Who knew dahlias from seed could be so easy? And so beautiful. Purple to deep bronze leaves with tall stems support single flowers in colors of yellow, soft orange, burgundy, and bicolors, too. Start indoors at the end of March in short season areas and set out after frost.
Gorgeous black foliage & richly colored 3-4” single blooms, good mildew resistance & its reliable perennial-ness makes this a Dahlia to lust for! To 3’ tall & bushy, it doesn’t need that silly staking either. If dead-headed, it’ll bloom all Summer into Fall providing great garden contrast, lots of cut flowers & a great pollen source for bumblebees! Great in a container too – 7 gallon size & up.
