Nursery contributed plant descriptions

An exquisite new selection of the fabulous Dahlia coccinea, and almost indistinguishable from the hard to obtain “Bishop of Llandaff” (which can be only propagated from cutting). Growing 3-4’ tall and up to 3’ spread this variety bears single, beautiful, carmine-red flowers in profusion, on multi-branching stems. The to-die-for foliage is deepest, mahogany red. Yum-yum! The best part is these Dahlias are EASY, STONG, DO NOT EVER NEED STAKING AND DO NOT GET MILDEW! They go deciduous in Winter and return bigger and better each year. Top dress with compost in early Spring. Excellent in large containers too!
