Nursery contributed plant descriptions

We’re often asked for “Chocolate Cosmos” & since we simply refuse to grow them (they get sick & die more often than not – such a disappointment!), we consider this a worthy upgrade. This sweetie pie annual has the chocolate color AND cocoa fragrance, plus it blooms for months & months & here in the super-mild Bay Area, it can be planted in any season. The gold ring around the deep maroon center is splashy & the plant is a compact 1-2’ tall & wide, so it can go almost anywhere. A habitat plant for sure & cut flowers? You bet! Self sows a bit. Rich soil is best, but not required.
