Nursery contributed plant descriptions

Truly breathtaking in flower, this rare, species (& subspecies!) of Bulbinella will top out at over 3’ tall. From its base clump it forms dense, club-like spikes of numerous, densely held, small, bright orange, star-shaped flowers for 6-8 weeks in Spring. After that, it goes deciduous & water should be withheld. A striking background plant & makes wonderful cut flowers. These plants will take several years to bloom, but Honey, it’s well worth the wait! Well-drained garden soil or sandy soil. Hardy to at least 25 °F. Deciduous. From South Africa.
