Now, here’s something really unique for you bulb fans! Tall reed-like leaves to 5’ sport lovely 1” yellow flowers in clusters on this rare Iris relative from South Africa. Though each individual flower is short lived, the plant blooms for a long time, typically between the months of March & July. In this way, it’s similar to our native Sisyrinchiums (“Blue-eyed Grass”) to which this plant is closely related. Tolerant of drought & poor soil, it remains evergreen where hardy & makes an upright & intriguing specimen for pots or the ground. Very rare in cultivation – so far we seem to be the only nursery in the world to offer it for sale.
