Aloe broomii is an evergreen cactus / succulent with blue and green foliage. In spring and winter orange and yellow flowers emerge. Features glaucous texture. Attracts beneficial insects and hummingbirds. Grows well with sun - mostly sun and occasional - low water. Drought tolerant once established. Prefers to be dry in winter. Does well in average, gritty, lean, rocky and well-drained soil. A good option if you're seeking something heat tolerant and verticillium wilt resistant.

A robust, short-stemmed, evergreen succulent forming a large, dense rosette of light green leaves, 1 ft. long (30 cm) that has the form and shape of an agave.

Aloe broomii is an ideal water-wise plant, especially in arid and semi-arid regions, and it is frost resistant. It makes an excellent focal point and structural plant in landscaped gardens, and is a good choice for a rock garden.

The plant blooms in late winter. Aloe broomii is depicted in 250-year old rock paintings in South Africa. Found on rocky slopes, needs good drainage.
