Nursery contributed plant descriptions

Oh my, my! The beauty of this plant is simply overwhelming. Each 4” indigo blue fabulously detailed flower lasts only a day, but what a day! Large specimens bloom in waves - first, you’ll see a crowd of buds, the next day, a marvelous display of flowers & on the third day, the jewels shrivel to nothing. They rest for awhile, then the cycle repeats over a period of 4-6 weeks. For most people enthused by flowers, this display is enough to make them either want to sit down or do a dance of joy. Plants are large & evergreen to 4’ tall by 3’ wide with long green leaves. Blooming stems will produce little plantlets later in the season & these plantlets will drop down & root, or “walk.” From Brazil. Plants are LIMITED - we will probably have but one crop a year.
