Nursery contributed plant descriptions

Regal yellow club shaped racemes of flowers add punctuation to the dry garden in Spring. Rarely seen, but easy to grow, Bulbinella elegans survives a wide range of soils & through Summer drought. Some specimens sport whitish flowers with a pink tinge, but most should be a bright yellow. These seed grown plants may take a couple of years to reach a flowering size, but once they do they should get bigger & better every year. Blooming spikes grow to 2', leaves to 1'. Dormant in Summer. From South Africa, of course!
