Tidy Tips is an annual wildflower that is widespread throughout California. Its 1 1/2" wide butter yellow flowers tipped with white are beautiful in masses, in combinations with other low-growing wildflowers, or as a sunny border edging. It has a long bloom period and is usually one of the first wildflowers to appear in spring. Often found growing with Goldflields. It has a mild fragrance. Tidy Tips is an excellent reseeder Native to California and is also found outside of California, but is confined to western North America. An important nectar source for the Checkerspot butterfly No Historical Uses found. Found in found throughout california's low-elevation dry habitats, from the coast to the low foothills and desert edge. Communitites located in Northern Coastal Scrub, Yellow Pine Forest, Foothill Woodland, Chaparral, Valley Grassland Between 0 and 4000 feet.
