Nursery contributed plant descriptions

We’ve been very impressed with this tough, EASY TO GROW little plant. It’s performed impeccably in DRY SHADE in propagator Anni J’s garden, growing low to the ground (6” high) & 3’ wide. For a month in the Summer it produces many panicles of curious & intriguing flowers in salmon & purple that are, in fact, very reminiscent in shape to, Yes! Mosquitoes. These are by far the loveliest little mosquitoes, though, as they neither bite, nor transmit that pesky West Nile Virus. We are indebted to the Strybing Arboretum (San Francisco Botanical Garden) for this delightful creature. Try it under Oak trees or anywhere where you need something low growing & low-maintenance.
