Nursery contributed plant descriptions

A spectacular native perennial wildflower from high meadows in our own cascade mountains and a big favorite of wildflower enthusiasts. Lovely purple flowers are borne in dense clusters up to 100 per stem. Fascinating extra long stamens protrude far beyond the petals and are tipped with golden anthers. ‘Silky Phacelia’ is base branching forming quite a few stems 10” to 18” tall above attractive blue grey foliage. It blooms mid June through August. The tiny hairs on Phacelia can cause skin dermatitis for some people so be sure to wear long sleeves & gloves when gardening around them!
