Nursery contributed plant descriptions

Luscious rich purple pillars of Chinese pagodas! This rare version of the California native “Chinese Houses” differs in its more abundant floral display, rich saturated purple color and its deliciously decorated throat. Base branching with so many upright stems to 18” tall, it's fun and beautiful and attracts bees and butterflies. Fairly deer resistant, too! In our garden last year I combined it with Limnanthes douglasii, Aquilegia chrysantha 'Yellow Queen' plus our old-fashioned tall purple Cineraria. Give it good garden soil and cut back for repeat bloom. Self-sows.
