Nursery contributed plant descriptions

Spectacular looking with big gray fleshy round leaves with a reddish edge and brilliant orange red flowers on meter high plants. Halda collected this up high in the Drakensburg back in the mid 90's, it probably is the most cold hardy form in cultivation although it melted outside for Dick and Tony; it may be great out west. In terms of floral display and foliage effect, no other succulent we grow even comes close. ZONE 6
Thick stems, round waxy leaves; mound to 4'. Hardy to 25 °F.
One of our most popular offerings! Everyone has a spot for this no-care, gloriously silver succulent in their dry garden or sunny I-don’t-want-to-deal-with-it spot by the side of the driveway. Great in a container too! To 30” tall and 3’ across, you get a compact, weed suppressing, highly drought tolerant shrublet of red-edged silvery white, almost circular foliage. From Summer thru Fall, it bears lots of showy pinky-apricot bells on upright silvery stems. Wonderful combined with ever-blooming Calandrinia spectabilis and Hebe speciosa. Native to Southwestern South Africa. Fire resistant!
