Nursery contributed plant descriptions

Much like the highly sought after “New Zealand Tussock Grass” Uncinia rubra, U. egmontiana makes a dense arching little clump so useful for maneagable color contrast in the garden & superb for edging or a pathway. With “Orange Hook Sedge,” the color of the foliage is more olive green with orange highlights & it grows a little taller, too – to about 20” tall. It’s a great grass for mixing in the garden, as it doesn’t get big & rarely needs cutting back. Grow it in rich, regularly watered, well drained soil in bright shade, part shade or full sun in areas with foggy Summers. Nice in a pot, too!
