Nursery contributed plant descriptions

Growing up to 6’ tall & forming a thick trunk, this grass tree is quite a specimen in the garden. It forms a large bulb at the base of the trunk & the bark is deeply textured & fissured. It branches as it ages. The foliage sprouts from the top of the trunk making it a true mop head. The long, strap-shaped foliage hangs down to almost cover the trunk or can be cut higher up so the trunk can be seen. When the plant blooms, the large flower spike can add another 5’-6’ to the height. The spike consists of tons of little white flowers. Native to Mexico, this plant needs little water once established. Hardy to 15 °F.
