Easily grown in a regularly watered garden, this rare native Gentian bears showy Gentian flowers in later Summer. “Kings Gentian” grows upright from thick fleshy roots to a height of 18” to 30” tall & about 8” across, with lance shaped, evergreen foliage. The intensely purple-blue, tubular flowers are held erect, 2 to 5 in a cluster, atop the upright stems. Native to bogs & prairies from British Columbia south to Sonoma County. Good garden soil is best. Long-lived.
