Nursery contributed plant descriptions

A desirable & hard to find Canna for those (like me) who find the commonly available Cannas too garish. In Summertime, the lovely flowers appear with their slender, deep red petals on dark, upright stems, followed shortly by pretty, red seed capsules containing smooth, black, BB-like seed, once used as a substitute for shotgun pellets. Best adapted to warm, Summer climates. In areas where soil freezes deeply, lift & store over winter. Cutting each stem to the ground after bloom will inspire new shoots. Rich soil is best. Regular watering is best during growth & bloom. Sunset zones 6-9 & 12-24.
