Nursery contributed plant descriptions

Stocky, branched, and spreading shrub to 4', with a woody base. The dull green, heart-shaped leaves are up to 3" long with grayish undersides and velvety hairs on both sides. Scattered magenta blooms in loose clusters to 2" long appear in late spring and early summer. Hardy to 25 °F. South Africa.
Not often seen for sale this low maintenance shrubby South African Geranium has much to offer and is a real asset for any garden! Evergreen with substantial, pretty 2” heart shaped leaves it forms a dense mound 3’-5’ tall and as much across. Highly valued for its long bloom season lasting from January to mid Summer (peaking in Spring), it’s quite floriferous too, with fancy orchid-like blooms sporting ornate crimson markings 1” in size and they’re well displayed in dense heads outside the foliage. It’s even drought tolerant, but of course will look more lush with some Summer water. Occasional pinching helps maintain bushiness. Tolerates bright shade but flowers more in full sun. Hardy to 15 °F.
