Tellima grandiflora is a low-growing broadleaf semi-evergreen perennial with green foliage. In spring green and red flowers emerge. Features fuzzy texture. Attracts bees and hummingbirds making it an excellent addition to pollinator gardens. Grows well with bright shade - shade and even moisture - regular water. Does well in rich and well-drained soil.

Though ?fringe-cups? may be a bit grandiloquent for the tiny flowers of this gentle easy-going wildflower, its attractive leaves, with their long white hairs, make pleasing edges along moist meadows, streams, and woodlands. S-PSh-Sh/M-W
A charming native plant with a rosette of large green leaves and spikes of airy white flowers. Good for shade. Young leaves have red veins. An all-purpose evergreen ground cover for any light condition and all but the driest or wettest soils. Nice creamy yellow flowers that are good for bouquets. A good backdrop for late spring bulbs. Native to BC.
An evergreen, low growing perennial. The flower is about 50- 1/2" pink folded stars on a 2' stalk. The rosette of leaves look like a bouquet of grape leaves. Fringecup makes an excellent ground cover as it spreads easily and looks fabulous en masse. Good for a small scale groundcover in a shady moist spot in the garden. It would also be useful as the front border of a small perennial garden. Hummingbirds like the high flower spike. Native to California and is also found elsewhere in North America and beyond. Hummingbirds love its nectar rich flowers. A decoction of the pounded plant has been used to restore the appetite and to treat a range of sicknesses. Found in found in moist woods. Communitites located in Redwood Forest, Mixed Evergreen Forest, Yellow Pine Forest Between 0 and 5000 feet.
A choice California native shade plant, “Fringe Cups” combines wonderfully with ferns. The creeping rootstock sends up leafstalks to 8” long set with maple-like, softly hairy leaves, forming clumps. Where Winters are mild it’s evergreen. Small, urn-shaped, Spring flowers with tiny, fringed tips open green & age to deep red & are attractively arranged along slender stems to 30” tall. Very useful on the northside of a house, under Redwoods, Oak trees & in woodland gardens. Good composty soil is best.
