    Alcea ficifolia is a broadleaf deciduous perennial with green foliage. In summer bronze, pink, red, white and yellow flowers emerge. Attracts bees, butterflies and hummingbirds making it an excellent addition to pollinator gardens. Grows well with sun and regular - occasional water. Does well in average, rich and well-drained soil. A good option if you're seeking something heat tolerant.

    Introduced at the end of the 16th century, this is somewhat similar to the common single Hollyhock but is a substantially more robust plant and if you've had problems with Hollyhocks before, you'll appreciate their vigor. It has distinct, fig-leaf foliage & produces 5-10' upright spikes of very beautiful, large single flowers in shades of yellow, copper, pink, red & white.
